I just got back from a week in Denver where I worked, ate, saw my friends, bought a bunch of weed, smoked it with my friends, and went to a Coloradan gay bar. I had so much fun with everyone and it reminded me of how I was recently talking about work/life balance the other day and how I don’t have it. It does sound nice and healthy in theory but what about when all of your best friends are at work? I feel so lucky every day to be surrounded by people who have enriched my life so deeply. There’s a core group of people who have been there for a large portion of it and I’m so grateful for their expertise and companionship. Traveling all over the world with with these people has brought me so much joy and a rare feeling of normalcy for a life on the road and I constantly feel the need to stop and soak in the gratitude and appreciation I feel toward them. The most valuable things a person can give you are time, love, and attention and I get all of it from these people.
